The owners of a luxurious new-build house in Ascot, Berkshire, asked Link It Solutions to deliver a comprehensive smart home solution. This is a beautiful six-bedroom house, designed with elegance and refinement in mind. It has six bathrooms, three reception rooms and a gym.
The owners had a keen eye for detail, as well as comfort and convenience. We worked closely with them to create a bespoke solution that met their needs and expectations.
We delivered an Elan home automation solution that connected the owners to their home and enabled them to control every aspect via remote controls, tablets or mobile phones.
Smart Lighting / Automated Lighting
Lighting was one of the key features the home owners wanted to control. We created a slick, user-friendly system by installing a Rako solution and integrating it seamlessly with Elan.
Featuring both indoor and outdoor circuits, the lighting system was easily controlled from the Elan interface via remote controls, tablets or mobile phones.
Elan offers two types of remotes, the one-room HR10 and the multi-room HR30. Each can be configured so that the family could set their lighting preferences anywhere in the house without interfering with each other.
Video Distribution
With eight TV screens throughout this high-end new –build, we turned to Elan to provide reliable video distribution.
Our system ensured they would have continuous access to three Sky boxes, two Apple TVs and CCTV cameras from any TV in the house at any time.
The waterproof in-wall Aquavision TV included in the master bathroom was also connected to the system, giving access to all audio and music sources from the comfort of the bathtub.
Audio Distribution / Multiroom Music
We created a 13-zone music system to allow easy access and sharing of the audio across the home.
Apple Music, the main source of music used by the owners, was distributed to all 13 zones through an Autonomic media cloud streamer, Apple TVs, local TV applications and phones. All 13 zones have access to at least four shared music sources, while music can also be shared from phones via Airplay.
Smart Heating
In a property as big as this, controlling the heating efficiently and cost-effectively is key.
The heating system, integrated with Elan, allowed seamless monitoring and control of the temperature of every zone in the house from anywhere in the world.
The owners could set their heating preferences in every room of the house without affecting the rest of the property.
Security /CCTV
To ensure security and peace of mind, we installed a Lilin IP-based CCTV system that included 10 IP cameras and a Lilin NVR, all integrated and controlled by Elan.
Like all the other features offered by Elan, CCTV was available through the Elan application. Another option provided to the owners was to select the CCTV feature on one of the hand-held remotes, so their TV could become a CCTV monitor.
Network and Wi-Fi Boosters
For the entire Elan system to operate smoothly, a stable and reliable network system was required.
We installed an enterprise-grade firewall to shield the home from Internet threats. To access the CCTV system securely, we configured a VPN. And a controller-based Wi-Fi network system and strategically placed Wi-Fi access points delivered seamless coverage to all three floors of the property, and the garden.
